SitheranSitherans are bipeds that resemble more developed lizard men, but to call one that would be a grave insult. They usually range in height from about 4'8" to 6'. Their skin complexion varies between lighter green, almost the color of dried grass, to a deep green, similar to a forest moss. Some tribes also have members who have brown skins, again running the gambit from a very light brown to a very deep almost black brown. All Sitherans are hairless, although they do have ridges along their skin, usually the bottom of arms and along the back, which give some definition and individuality to each Sith. Sitherans have an extensive honor system set up which most Sitherans follow. Each Sitheran has a Chek'Sa or "honor stake" which they wear prominently at their waist. The Chek'Sa (pronounced check sa') is a 6" long rod of hard wood that has numerous rings wrapped around it which tells of who the Sith is and what they have done. Standard rings include birth line, and tribe. Some more exotic ones are for fighting bravely at a battle, killing of an elder, or are an acknowledgment of service to the tribe. The leaders of every Sitheran tribe are "ring clerics", since Ket'Mo's (pronounced KET moe) are the only members of the tribe who can bestow more rings. Because of this power, clerics of the Sitherans are very revered, killing a Ket'MO without cause is punishable by instant death. Because of the Chek'Sa system Sitheran society is theocratic. Normally a tribe is lead by a council of clerical elders. A typical Sitheran owes fealty first to his or her tribe's god and his or her clerics, then to the tribe itself, then to their family and lastly to others. To go along with the Chek'Sa system there is a great respect for elders. When the tribe council believes it is time an older Sith is given a Shen'twa or "blade brother". The Shen'twa will shadow the elder for some time learning everything that person knows. After a time the Shen'twa will accompany the elder on their Keth'Ra or "final journey" during which time the elder is to accomplish a great deed and either die in its completion or be killed afterwards by the Shen'twa in a secluded ceremony. Sitherans live simply off of the land.
They do have numerous gardens for turnips, potatoes and other plants despite
what some believe. They also have extensive fishing and hunting
areas, which they claim as their own from tribe to tribe. They keep
no domesticated animals of any kind. The technology of the Sitherans has been somewhat kept under wraps. While they do have extensive knowledge of farming and fishing, their refusal to keep animals among them has stymied their herding skills. Their refining skills are spent mostly on softer metals such as gold and silver, although they have advanced enough to have some refined metals, and weak steel. Because of the nature of their honor system, very few Sitherans leave their villages. When any are found outside of their villages it is for one of two reasons. Either they have lost their Chek'Sa, having it broken by a ring cleric (basically stripping the Sith of all identity), or are on an important mission for their tribe, in which case they will wish to accomplish their task and return home as soon possible.
