Chall God of Chivalry, Camaraderie and Just War ManifestationsChall is usually quite direct when he contacts his followers. If one of his followers does something that he doesn't approve of he will tell them by making his voice heard. Only the person to whom he is talking can hear his words, but they come across as a loud booming voice. This can look very unusual to on lookers, as it will appear as if the person is talking to him/herselfSymbol
The symbol of Chall is made out of many different materials. The most common
is metal. His symbol is of a sword in front of a blue circle. The sword
represents Chall's strength in battle, and the blue circle represents friendship
as a never-ending circle. GreetingMay you have Chall's Blessing in battle. or May Chall watch your back my friend.Priestly attirePriestly: Normally priests of Chall wear a Dark Blue dress suite. This consists of a dark blue suite coat with silver trim, and blue pants with a silver stripe at the outside seem of each pant leg. To denote their position in the church the priests wear a ribbon on their left breast. New members of the church have a single colored ribbon. While those of higher status have multiple colors arranged in horizontal stripes. Daily: The daily dress of Chall's followers usually doesn't
differ from that of the local styles. Since most worshippers of Chall
are warriors, it is not uncommon for the priests to be found wearing heavy
armor. If a shield is used it almost always has Chall's symbol engraved
in it. Whether in 'daily' or 'priestly' attire, priests of Chall always
prominently display their gods symbol Organization of the Church of ChallA council of high priests leads the church of Chall. Each of the High Priests presides over a large geographical area. There are currently seven High Priests, but this number grows as more lands are discovered or lessened if large areas fall under control of a power not friendly to Chall. There is a council meeting every year for the High priests to discuss important matters of the church. Meetings other than this yearly gathering can be called if something important comes up that requires the attention of the council. There are several levels of leadership below the High Priests. Each level presides over smaller geographic areas. There are no official titles for the different levels in the church. The higher-ranking priests are located in larger cities. While the lower level are in the smaller cites and villages. Under each Karn are numerous priests. These priests normally answer directly
to their Karn and are when away from the church are often found on a mission
for his or her Karn. As with all the other levels of the church this level
has a smattering of both males and females from the various races of the
land. Priests of Ephertain do not have to answer directly to a Karn, however
those who wish to gain power, prestige and training eventually attach
themselves to a Karn. Priestly activitiesThe priests of Chall are often the good Samaritans of the towns or cities they live in. Many people come to the church for help with all types of problems. Because of this one of the priests main jobs is as mediator. Priests of Chall are often called on to perform many different ceremonies. Since many of the priests have themselves been knighted, they often perform knighting ceremonies. They also preside over the funerals of fallen warriors. It is seen as a great blessing to have Chall take fallen comrades to the afterlife. Chall is often called to before great battles. It is said that if a Priest blesses a warrior before battle, the warrior is protected by Chall, and cannot be slain, but the Priests are very particular of which side in a battle they bless. They only pray for the army they feel is in the 'right'. And if the entire battle is needless the followers of Chall will bless neither side. Holy DaysThe third day of every week is considered a holy day. This is the day followers of Chall attend church. The 3rd of Borlas is the Remembrance Day. This day is to celebrate and remember all of the warriors that have died in wars serving the word of Chall. The 14th day of Wolik is Luchen. This is a celebration of friendship.
It is a day to spend with family and friends, and often people give presents
to their loved ones to show that they appreciate them being a friend.
Temple DescriptionsChall's Temples are usually fairly small. They have a large room for the weekly service, not unlike most other churches. They also have several rooms for people to meet and talk. These rooms are usually furnished with large wooden tables and chairs. These rooms may also contain maps as these are used as 'war rooms' when members of the church go to war. |
