BomrickGod of excess, indecision, brewing, and the festival ManifestationsIt is said that when a person has drunk to excess, become sick because of their gluttony, or simply overdone themselves, Bomrick has played a hand. Many believe that Bomrick has possessed those who do things to excess, so that he may enjoy the pleasures they are partaking of. Very seldom does Bomrick make himself apparent. When he does, it is to
those who have drunk to excess. Nonbelievers will pass it off as hallucinations,
but those who truly believe, know. He appears in many different forms
to his followers, depending on how he feels, or what form he feels is
most appropriate. SymbolThe symbol of Bomrick is in the shape of a crest. The crest is divided into 3 sections. In the first is depicted a large table full of food an drink. The second contains a depiction of a still or sometimes simply a glass of overflowing ale. The third section is that of a festival, with many bright colors and music notes.Greeting"May your cup and plate always overflow."Priestly attirePriestly: The priests of Bomrick dress in very vivid, often contrasting,
colors. Depending on your locale, the robes of the clerics will be different
colors. Each city/region has a color scheme that they follow. There is
no set colors that must be contained in these robes. Daily: When the priests are not in the church, they wear
the fashion of the day, except usually in much brighter colors. Often
priests will try to find the newest fashion and sport that, as they like
to maintain their festive appearance. Organization of the Church of BomrickMany people assume that the head of the church (the Grand Dikon) is chosen by their ability to throw grand parties, or drink & eat to excess. This is not the case. The clerichood of Bomrick knows that in order to continue to throw such grand parties, and assist with other parties, they must have someone with a good business mind in charge. There are few who join the order with this business sense, but when one does, he/she is recognized immediately, and trained in this line. They are told upfront that they could become Grand Dikon some day, if they perform well. These people are usually put in charge of the finances of their local clerichood, and promoted up through the ranks. Each clerichood is under a regional director (the Regional Dikon). The Regional Dikon reviews the books of each temple under him/her every year and directs money where needed. He/she also receives monthly reports from the clerichoods to make sure things are running smoothly. Above the Regional Dikon's sit a council. The 'Council' is made up of four members and the Grand Dikon. The Grand Dikon is in charge of the council and has the final decision. The Council are there to review the regional reports that are sent bimonthly, as well as to review the yearly reports. When a region is in need of money, they are there to dispatch said moneys, or to rectify the situation in some other manner. The regions can be reprimanded for needing money too often, or for unfit
reasons. Each region is allowed to reprimand the offending districts as
they see fit, though their actions must be sent to the Council to be sure
they aren't abusing their power. This is to keep the churches more responsible
for their financial fitness. Priestly activitiesThe priests of Bomrick are the festival/party planners of any city. Often, when one is planning a large party, or ball, they will call on the clerics of Bomrick. They know much about planning and location for such events. No matter the occasion, the clerics of Bomrick must be invited to the party. To not do so is a serious social taboo. They are well known as the best party throwers, and to be very generous partygoers. It is not unheard of for a cleric of Bomrick to supply the ale, or the food, for a party. The clerics also often help local brewers out when large orders come in. The clerichood in most cities maintain their own brewery. They are known to train brewers as well. Holy DaysThe Festival Very seldom does the festival stay in one city for more than one year. Often the cities/towns who host the festival are initially quite excited about the prospect, but after they have hosted it, aren't quite so eager to have it back. While it is true the festival brings in a fair amount of money, as well as publicity for their city, there is also a lot of work involved before and after the festival. The clerics of Bomrick know how to throw a party, and they leave nothing untouched. The festival always has plenty to drink and eat, as well as music that does not stop until the very wee hours of the morning, only to start again early the next day. Then there is the matter of cleanup. The clerics are not much in the way of helping to clean up after the party, so often the town is left to their own devices to clean up after the festival, which is quite a chore. Grand-Dikon's Birthday Those in attendance are asked to bring a present to the Grand-Dikon.
These presents are gathered and displayed on a large table in the middle
of the party. After the party is over, they are sent to the Grand-Dikon. Temple DescriptionsThe temples of Bomrick are not to be missed. They are often some of the most grandiose temples one would ever lay eyes upon. Often the temples have tall spires with no seeming purpose, and many statues, gardens, and decorative accents. All of the temples have large ballrooms suited for grand parties. These ballrooms are often quite exquisitely decorated. The clerichood rents these rooms out to the town for any social activities that they might need. In smaller towns, the ballroom may be located in a separate building, but are nonetheless a sight to behold. Each temple is unique in it's layout, and are often under near constant
renovation and new construction. The grounds are usually open to the public
and often sport a variety of actors, musicians and the like performing
for audiences. |
